Toronto Adult Entertainment: Toronto forum tackles human trafficking around Olympics

January 12th, 2010 · No Comments

The panel will include Janine Benedet (UBC Faculty of Law), Trisha Baptie (a former prostitute and founder of EVE – Experiential Voices Educating) and
(REED – Resist Exploitation, Embrace Dignity). All of the speakers are abolitionists who want genuine safety for women, not the legalization of prostitution.
The demand for sexual access to women and children fuels human trafficking. Women and children in Canada are routinely coerced into the flesh trade to meet this demand, and a large sporting event such as the 2010 Games will increase the market for paid sex.
“Buying Sex Is Not A Sport” identifies prostitution as violence against women and calls on the Parliament of Canada to follow Sweden’s example and decriminalize the selling of sex and criminalize the buying of sex. “Buying Sex Is Not A Sport” is partnering with Listen Up TV to bring the forum to Toronto.

Toronto Strip Clubs: Encouraging mid-rises a tall order

January 12th, 2010 · No Comments

Until recently Richmond Hill’s charming Yonge Street thoroughfare was marred by the presence of a derelict strip club, housed in a pink-painted building with a large parking lot.
Today in its place stands a mid-rise condominium project that is among the jewels in the Ontario town’s crown. With 104 suites, four storeys stepping up to seven, it boasts a street-level courtyard and burgeoning commercial space now coming to life as businesses move in.
“This is a fine example of a mid-rise development,” says Patrick Lee, director of planning policy for the town. “It fits in very well with the context of Richmond Hill.”

Yet developers in Ontario can face significant hurdles when it comes to planning mid-rise buildings. Replace a strip club? Great, but the planning and approval process may still take years and send developers to municipal regulatory bodies for approval.

Toronto Strip Clubs: No Pants Day (Video Photo) Sexy Women Ride NYC Subways

January 11th, 2010 · No Comments

No Pants Day was celebrated on January 10, 2010. Yes, that means it already happened. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t find some footage of pantless people in NYC.
No Pants Day is celebrated on most trains in major cities such as New York, Washington, Chicago, and Atlanta. The idea is hilarious and fun and a bit sexy all at the same time. The basic idea is that you board a train and take off your pants while keeping everything else on. The idea is to bring chaos and laughter to as many people as possible.
It all started with 7 strippers nine years ago. It began with an improv group who eventually got thousands to play along. There were thousands of people playing this game.
So watch the clip below to catch a glimpse of some sexy people dropping their pants to ride on the cold subways in NYC. (c) tPC

Toronto Strip Clubs: NYC No Pants Subway Ride A Huge Success!

January 11th, 2010 · No Comments

… Hundreds of New Yorkers with an exhibitionist streak spent Sunday afternoon riding the subways in boxers, briefs and lacy panties during the ninth annual No Pants Subway Ride, despite chilly weather. The group Improv Everywhere, a group that says its mission is to cause ’scenes of chaos and joy in public places,’ organized the stunt.” Read More
Many newspapers covering this event featured photographs of beautiful women in underwear riding the subway. But I know how crowded the New York City subways are, and with my luck I’d be standing next to two old guys in their tidy whities. (or maybe not so tidy)
If Improv Everywhere scheduled the next No Pants Subway Ride in the middle of the summer, they would have thousands of participants.
Participants were told to act like nothing unusual was going on. Bad advice! If the ladies were advised to use the poles you hold on to as stripper poles, there would have been more joy and less chaos.

Toronto Escorts: Toronto may get first transgendered councillor in 2010 election

January 10th, 2010 · No Comments

Anderson says she recognizes the diverse needs of the riding she may represent. Toronto Centre-Rosedale is a mash-up that includes the queer community in the Church-Wellesley village, the affluent Rosedale and the low-income Moss Park neighbourhoods.
“I noticed sometimes seniors get left out of a lot of social programs simply because they are too frail to gain access,” Anderson said. “It’s a matter of making sure that those who are less fortunate than us are taken care of the most.”
Over the years, Anderson has also spoken about sex worker rights. As an example, she talks about the years-old conflict at the corner of Jarvis and Maitland. It’s where transsexual sex workers have worked for years. It’s also where the condo owners who live on the corner have been less than happy with the local trade.

Toronto Escorts: Suburbia’s hidden homeless

January 10th, 2010 · No Comments

Though home is a misnomer. He used to sleep in the cab of an abandoned tractor-trailer until someone set it on fire. Shelters, he says, are too dangerous. So he’s been in this derelict van for six weeks, where condensation droplets from his breath freeze on its metal ceiling and then slowly drip back on him through the night like some Third World water torture.
He once had his own flooring and contracting business, he says, until he injured his back. Unable to work, he lost his home — “I miss my crystal, man,” he says longingly — and then followed the worn path from depression to crack cocaine. “Nobody wants to be homeless,” he says. “But once you fall into this pit, you can’t climb out.”
Gale explains her last three years of homelessness this way: “Being a prostitute and a crackhead,” she guffaws. It’s her way, to laugh and joke and be shockingly crude.

Toronto Strip Clubs: Human trafficking case nets arrest

January 8th, 2010 · No Comments

TORONTO — A Mississauga man awaiting trial for armed robbery is accused of forcing two young women to become strippers and prostitutes in York Region’s second human trafficking case.
The case began unravelling in September when York vice cops were called about a 19-year-old woman who was allegedly forced to strip at a Mississauga club after arriving from Alberta.
Marlo Williams, 24, was charged with human trafficking and several other offences involving allegations the victim was forced to stay at a Mississauga condo and was beaten and choked when she tried to escape.
Investigators say the woman finally escaped and spent a night on the streets. She was in a vulnerable state when, the next day, she went to a youth centre and was picked up outside by a man, police said.

Toronto Strip Clubs: Review: YOUTH IN REVOLT

January 8th, 2010 · No Comments

Cera as Nick Twisp is the same character he played in… every movie he has ever done, including himself in PAPER HEART. Where he comes out ahead is his portrayal of Francois, which is leaps and bounds ahead of anything you’ve seen him do previously. Honestly, I can’t wait to see him do something like this in the future… and grow a mustache.
For all of you parents wondering about this movie from the trailer you see on TV, the film is rated R for a reason, so don’t be taking the kiddies out to see this one.
The movie opens in theaters everywhere on January 8th, so make sure you get in theaters and see this movie, you wont be disappointed… unless you hate life and aren’t a fan of laughing. In that case then you should really just go to a strip club or something… cheer up trooper.
