Toronto Escorts: Farce offers too much of a good thing

March 8th, 2010 · No Comments

The rest of the novel follows the relationships between Roberto and the students as well as the police efforts to solve the murder, and it involves a daunting roster of characters — a teenage runaway hitchhiking to Toronto from northern Ontario dodging dodgy men on the way, Jasper’s parents, Roberto’s aunt and uncle, other medical students, Mexican Parabolists, a cuckold, a pimp, a couple of cops and a creepy anesthetist. And they all have their story. Here is where the problem lies, for The Parabolist, though comic and inventive, is the literary equivalent of minestrone soup. Everything is here: characters who seem superfluous, plot lines that serve no purpose, and more broad brush strokes than a prairie mural. And an excess of, for want of a better word, exuberance– Jasper is caught with his pants down too many times. Even farces have their limits.

Toronto Escorts: Jason Collett takes the trick

March 8th, 2010 · No Comments

… The idea would be to try and turn it into a mid-winter multidisciplinary festival, where you run it like a music festival in a bunch of rock clubs, but it’s got this literary element. We’d be exposing all the great, vast amount of talent we have in the literary world in Canada, artists who just don’t get the recognition that sexy rock ‘n roll musicians get. I’m quite intrigued by it, seeing if something like that could fly – but it could take a couple years to get the ball rolling on that.”
In the meantime, Collett is open to pursuing other forms of artistic ‘cross-pollination’. Such relationships are certainly fostered on Rat a Tat Tat. Literary inspiration is engraved in songs like “Vanderpool Vanderpool”, whose lyrics were drawn from a book on the history of Chicago’s red light district. Nonetheless, he’s quick to acknowledge the differences between lyrics and prose.

And more than likely it will be a goal.
Crosby, who at 26 has already won a Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins, brought the puck down the ice against the United States team about 8 minutes into sudden-death overtime.
Crosby passed the puck over to teammate Jarome Iginia, who battled U.S. defenseman Ryan Suter for the puck. As Crosby hovered around the net, like a dog looking for a bone, he took the feed from Iginia and fired a Crosby special past Ryan Miller, the best player in the Winter Olympic men’s ice hockey tournament.
As the puck entered the red light district, Crosby began his celebration that set off a celebration for an entire nation. It was threefold – a celebration, a relief and the climax to one of the greatest hockey games ever played.

Toronto Escorts: Girl allegedly fed drugs for sex

March 8th, 2010 · No Comments

TORONTO – A Vaughan man who allegedly bought the services of a human-trafficking victim was in court Friday, accused of feeding the young woman drugs before having sex with her.
The case dates back to September when York Regional Police vice officers were called about a 19-year-old woman who was allegedly forced to strip at a Mississauga club after arriving from Alberta.
Marlo Williams was charged with human trafficking and several other offences involving allegations that the victim was forced to stay at a Mississauga condo and was beaten and choked when she tried to escape.
The day after she finally escaped, the woman went to a youth centre where she was picked up by her second alleged trafficker.
Investigators alleged Randy Estick forced the victim, along with a 22-year-old Mississauga woman, to strip and work as a prostitute. He was charged with several offences, including human trafficking.
