On the other, though, you could see it as an opportunity. Federal investigators are interested in talking to Rodriguez because Galea has said he treated A-Rod after Rodriguez’s hip surgery a year ago. A-Rod hasn’t confirmed or denied that allegation, and the Yankees, as well as Rodriguez’s surgeon, Marc Philippon, say they gave no approval for Galea to work with Rodriguez.
In other words, there’s still some sorting out to be done here, and when it comes to federal drug investigations — Galea was arrested after an assistant of his was caught with illegal HGH at the U.S.-Canada border — these things are rarely quick; or simple.
All of that could end up being difficult for Rodriguez. In the past, he seemed to be distracted by controversy, whether it had to do with his personal life (divorce, Madonna) or social life (underground poker rooms, strip clubs). He was, perhaps, too sensitive.

Mr. Khabouth praised Ms. Halem for developing a smart niche market by relying on a network of contacts. “This business is all about knowing people, hustling a little bit, getting people together and putting on a good vibe, a good party. And Mona has been around for a while.”
Ms. Halem insists she provides superstars with a fun, hassle-free environment, not a place to pick up women.
“It’s not about that at all,” she said. “It’s just basically whether you’re a player or a businesswoman or businessman or student or whoever you are, you are going to enjoy it because of the atmosphere, the music, the friendly environment, the service.”
When asked if she is running an escort service, Ms. Halem replied: “Wow, no, definitely not! There are four or five other top promoter and event co-ordinators in the city and they are all men and none of them get asked that question.”

Urban Planner: March 12, 2010
Urban Planner is Torontoist’s guide to what’s on in Toronto, published every weekday morning, and in a weekend edition Friday afternoons. If you have an event you’d like considered, email all of its details—as well as images, if you’ve got any—to events@torontoist.com.
Call Girl (detail), mixed media on paper, Kim Krans. Photo courtesy of the artist.
ART: In “Diamonds,” her first solo show in three years, Brooklyn artist Kim Krans presents a collection of collage pieces, as well as a new sculpture. Krans uses found images, paper, and paint, along with 3D materials like plaster and clay, to evoke a dreamlike sensibility that veins through the mostly black-and-white pieces. Since her last show in NYC, Krans has shifted over to music/songwriting and other projects, and she’ll be in attendance tonight if you’re curious about how these ventures have influenced her recent work. Hunter and Cook gallery (15 Ossington Avenue), 7–10 p.m., FREE.
