The day after local police closed a decade-old murder probe, Toronto cold case detectives were in Windsor interviewing the same suspect about three murders in Toronto. On Tuesday, Windsor police charged Peter Dale MacDonald, already serving a life sentence for murder, with second-degree murder in the death of Michelle Charette, 40, in 2000. MacDonald, 51, is also a suspect in the murder of 19-year-old Byron Carr, of Charlottetown, two decades ago. Toronto police interviewed him on Wednesday as a suspect in the slayings of three prostitutes. MacDonald is already serving a life sentence for killing James Campbell in his Toronto home in April 2000. MacDonald was moving back and forth between Windsor and Toronto at the time of Ms. Charette’s murder.
